Inpatient Mental Health Services

Inpatient mental health services are available for those who cannot be safely assessed, diagnosed and stabilized in the community.

Subjects: Alcohol / Alcohol or drug use / Bipolar Disorder / Dementias / Depression / Detachment from reality (delusions, paranoia, or hallucinations) / Eating Disorders / Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD) / Opioids / Personality Disorders / Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) / Psychosis / Schizophrenia / Self-Injury / Suicidal thoughts and behaviours

Age Groups: Adults / Seniors

Patients are typically admitted to the hospital following assessment by psychiatrists or emergency department physicians at a hospital emergency room or a community clinic.

Youth can self-refer by drop-in at the allocated schools where the Adolescent Outreach Services is offered. School Administration, teachers, guidance, support staff, caregivers, friends, and healthcare professionals can also refer youth to worker.
